Dutch Start-up flogs.com raises $ 3 million
October 6th, 2009, Amsterdam: flogs.com a new Dutch internet start-up, has raised a nearly $ 3 million (€ 2 million) round of funding from private investors and the Dutch Government. Flogs is specialized in sharing and synchronizing a large range of event calendars across most major platforms. The Dutch Government expressed that they support the innovative idea behind the service that Flogs offers.
CEO Toon Timmermans: “The fact that we have received this funding in these economic times is an ambassador for our product. With this new round we are ready to expand our business worldwide. At the end of this year we will open our new office in New York. It is a big step for Flogs that we can now hire top performers to take a professional and experienced approach to our sales, engineering and marketing department.
This funding enabled Flogs to hire two top performers in the online industry. Ralph Manheim, a former IMG Media executive with vast experience in the world of Football, will start as the commercial director for Flogs International. Martijn van Egmond, former Google, will take the roll of Marketing & Communication manager.
Besides hiring top performers, the use of proceeds will further speed-up technical development and expand international sales and marketing activities.
